Hike w kids. Dedicated creek to trail (east side of lot) was enjoyable, nice steps chipped into rock, thanks to FS volunteer/site host for pointing it out. Path along creek was pleasant, crossings were plenty and easy, kids enjoyed the water a bit much, all expected. Was tempted to throw in the mine too, figured five miles was far enough for the gang (especially the 2yo). On the way back we started bumping into others, including two groups of horses that allowed gentle pets. Warm haul out of the creek, everyone made it with no carries needed.
