| no partners | | Parked near the end of 119 and 180 intersection early Friday morning. Hiked 180 the four miles into Chevelon lake. Only one group camped near the roads end and nobody camped down at the lake. I followed the trail on past the first obvious campsite. Very trashed, broken glass, TP... The spot further down was better and had a better view without the muddy lake front property. There were a few guys launching float tubes and they were complaining about the mud. Seems like the water is really low. Had several drops of rain Friday afternoon but otherwise just cloudy. Right before dark, the buzz of mosquitos is super loud and they were thick, but not one bite. Saturday I hiked south along the creek a mile or two just fishing around and lounging in the hammock. Hiked out Sunday morning and had a dusty drive out. |
