| partners | | My niece picked up our Thanksgiving dinner, I supplied the pumpkin porter beer and cranberry conserve... we ate out on my porch and then hiked around Lookout. I gave her the option of the summit or circumference; since we had just eaten, she chose the circumference c-clockwise.
It wasn't too crowded so that was nice. Almost everyone did the "Happy Thanksgiving" greeting. The tree on the western saddle has already rec'd some ornaments.
As usual there was a good breeze on the eastern flank. This time I noticed a very damaged saguaro; guess I had not noticed it before as when I hike alone, I don't look around as much. We went and investigated and I've posted some pics. Looks like it was transported there and was held up with some kind of rope and there could have been some board nailed to it in the square spot. There was sap/water dripping from it fairly aggressively.
A nice Thanksgiving with my niece. |

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
