a practice hike for tomorrow. Forgot my wrist guard but I went ahead and hiked anyway. My vaccinated arm is much better today as long as I don't twist it too much. They say the soreness is evidence the vaccine was working but I never know what to believe about this whole Covid thing. My wrist felt heavy like the plate was weighing it down or something.

I went counterclockwise and did the whole loop, pretty clouds initially and saw a lizard. On the south side a hummingbird actually stayed landed on a creosote bush long enuf for me to photograph but using my zoom on the phone is still a work in progress. Finished the loop and then hiked a little interior quarter loop. I took a use trail for a different route just because I hadn't really noticed it before; better to stay on the main trail; especially now. Quite a few people out, probably 75% bothered to say hello back.

Had words with a lady not on the trail (#150 Summit) in that same area that has been partially blocked by rocks to no avail. I told her the trail was technically over here and easier than what she was coming down. She lit into me and talked faster than I used to be able to, ha! I just smiled and continued hiking. And then she came down the area where it said this area was closed but no sense in saying anything to her at this point ](*,) .

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
