Yet another mid-70°s July Valley of the Sun day-hike in the books.

An unfathomed 20-foot section of mud on the way down the switchbacks from the summit trail. I've seen them doing work this summer in that area. Guessing the 2-3 inch layer was washed over vs unpacked new trail.

When I got to the Northwest saddle I realized they must have done a pretty good job on trail maintenance. I didn't even notice that area with a high+low option.

The red needle cactus really pop in the wet contrast, never realized so many exist. Resurrection plant on the micro-environment north slope was fluffed up.

By the Northeast corner the rain picked up but the Doves kept picking at the semi-green saguaro fruit.

It was 74° when I started the stroll, got up to 78°, finished at 73°. Drizzle for 50% of the hike.
