Peralta Trail
From the TH to the saddle the trail is in great shape. At the saddle I removed one layer since the chill had passed. From the saddle to the Dutchman the trail is in very good condition with only a few overgrown areas. Made a quick stop to check out Piper Spring which is basically no longer as it is collapsed and dry.
Dutchman
For the short stretch we hiked the trail was in nice shape. Stopped for lunch as we were right at the halfway point. Great views of Weaver’s here.
Terrapin
As @DixieFlyer mentioned in his triplog, Terrapin has seen some recent maintenance and is in great shape. That climb out of the Needle Canyon area gets the blood pumping for sure. Shed another layer on the climb. Lost the trail for a short bit in an area where it looks like they may be doing some rerouting but jumped back on trial quick enough.
Bluff Springs to TH
Typical trail conditions here. Felt really good up to the Cave Trail junction then the downhill bounce down the rocks started taking its toll on the feet. The car was a welcomed site.
Saw a pair of hikers headed up to the saddle and three near the Terrapin Bluff Spring junction but that was it for the day. Great day on the trail. |
