| partners | | The original plan was to do the Bursera/Pyramid loop that I usually do, but I thought about reversing it and going up Pyramid and tacking on Kiwanis/Ranger to get a bigger loop. There was a noisy group ahead of me as I started out, so I quickly switched to Bursera to do the loop clockwise and avoid the chatter.
Up Bursera, then east on National. Passed a group of four at the Lost Mine/National jct. Headed up to Goat Hill, where I decided to skip the Ranger/Kiwanis portion and just do the regular loop. Saw the group of four again as I came off Goat Hill and continued east.
At the Ranger/National jct, I heard a noise below me and saw Denny coming up to the top of Ranger. I think he threw a rock at me . We chatted for a moment and he graciously allowed me to join him back up to Goat Hill again and back down Ranger with him. Saw the same group of four again, and I’m pretty sure they were wondering just what the hell I was doing now that they had seen me three times on National. Near the bottom of Ranger, we ran into an acquaintance of mine and exchanged quick greetings.
I said my good-byes to Denny at Los Lomitas, where I headed east while he finished up his hike on Ranger. Up Kiwanis, then down Pyramid to finish out the hike. Warm coming up Kiwanis and down Pyramid, but there was a nice breeze at times. Good workout loop and nice to get some miles in, especially the couple of miles with company. |
