| no partners | | Decided to give this rim climb trail a try, I enjoyed it, Ryan not so much.
Parked at the Strawberry TH and hiked the Bearfoot Trail to the start of the Wise Trail. Lower Wise was steep but relatively easy to follow. The middle of Wise is less steep but more overgrown and challenging to stay on route. This is the section Ryan grew tried of very quickly. The steepness returned on the upper section of Wise but the route finding was easier. At the top there was a nice rocky section were easy scrambling was required. Once on the rim we took a short break then did some wandering before we headed back down via FR 608, aka Rock Wall Trail.
Nice hike that I’d do again but I might need to bribe my hiking partner into joining me. |
