| no partners | | Parked at the bottom of the hill and started counterclockwise. This little connector was obliterated in some sections by the recent storm (I got a little over an inch of rain last Sat. and I'm 5 minutes from here). I headed around the western humps in the off and on shade. The Mammillaria and Barrell cactus are sprouting fruit. As I headed east the aggressive breeze kept wanting to take my hat, off so I obliged a couple times.
I ran into a volunteer with a large rake. I could see some of the results from his labor on this south and east section of the trail. The previous part of the trail had been beat up in spots on the west side. I got back to the TH and then headed up the summit trail to take a connector back over to the western humps and around. By this time there were only a couple hikers out vs the several I had seen on the previous part of my hike.
I headed back to the main part of the trail before taking the little southwest spur that was hard to even see now because of the battered terrain. I just loved that breeze today; my hair wasn't nearly as wet from my normal hiking nor was I as sweaty. It's nice to feel refreshed rather than beat after this little city hike.
