| partners | | Linda was nice enough to invite me up to hike Horton Creek up to the source with Denny and Bruce so I gladly accepted. Sprinkles early on but we all removed our rain gear within the first mile.
This was a lovely hike and Cathy would have loved it...basically nonstop waterfalls the entire way plus green and more green. The spring itself was gushing out of the side of the rim...such a fine sight to see. Even saw some trout! [ photo ]
Other highlights worth mentioning are (1) fulfilling my long time ambition to horn in on a Coan YouTube short. [ youtube video ] (2) eating very tasty apples directly off a tree we stumbled across and (3) learning from Bruce that Ponderosa Pines have a distinct vanilla smell to them.
Great lunch at El Rancho in Payson after the hike. Thanks for doing the driving Linda! Nice to see Denny again and to finally meet the elusive Eagle. |
