| no partners | | Had something else in mind but got lazy so headed to my little piece of Ireland , Lookout Mountain; all I need is some ocean . I headed up the hill and up again to the trail that heads west. I stepped aside for some elderly folks that were out for a stroll. They had to do pretty good to get to this point. I hiked on the east side of the western humps and then over to the west side.
I could see snow to the northwest and some on the New River Mountains. Of course, the Mazzies really stood out. In fact, I could see "far, far away" today. I tried to push my Samsung's zoom and did "so,so". I don't know, when you're in Ireland, can you see snow from its green desert? Oh wait, there aren't any deserts in Ireland . When I hit the north saddle I decided to climb up to the top of the hump. There is a pretty distinct trail. Nice views from here but getting down was a little dicey for me as I'm having hip problems again. I then hiked up the middle hump and over to its east side before continuing my normal route.
I encountered hikers off and on for the rest of my hike around the south and over to the east side. I, once again, tried to get pictures showing the snow and the green grass over on the Mazzies and Supes. I think I was able to get a photo of the snow-capped Pinals? behing Weavers Needle. I felt pretty good as I finished off my hike enjoying all the vibrant green color around me and breathing in fresh/crisp air. The parking lot was full but I generally don't park there anymore as I park down the hill. I did see a hawk flying into the city as I neared Tonto 3.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
