| no partners | | I've been sick (cold) for five days and have done nothing but a little 'hood walk. Thus, I parked at the TH, rather than the bottom of the hill, thinking I would probably struggle today. I don't know what happened but this ended up being an absolutely fabulous hike, even though I'm still a little sick. I kept asking myself what was going on as I wasn't struggling at all and felt fabulous .
I hiked clockwise, noticed two Lupine along the trail but that was it. The Brittlebush are blooming very nicely. The Combseed has started to turn brown as my Ireland returns to its desert form. The sky was just awesome today as was the temperature and the air. I noticed the Bursage is starting to put on its buds/blooms as well; it's still not a beauty.
As I came around the southwest corner I saw Tanya so I stopped and chatted with her. I suggested she try the Sonoran Preserve North for some different hiking that's not too hard. I finished off my hike by going to where I normally park Tonto 3 and hiking up the hill to the TH. I definitely had it in me to do much more but alas, I needed to go grocery shopping. What a beautiful afternoon . I plan a longer hike tomorrow and check on the owls in Sonoran Preserve North.

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
