| no partners | | As I drove up I could see the air in front of Lookout. I knew the humidity was high so I decided to do the easier route as I figured it would be a sweat fest for me, even in this cool temperature. Surprisingly, I felt good for the entire hike and tried to keep a decent pace. However, according to my watch, I was not ; I think there had to be a malfunction. As I headed east, the air was so dense that I could barely see the McDowells and the Supes were not visible at all! Many distant areas that I normally see were M.I.A.
More people out than I thought for the time of day and a Wednesday. I saw two regualars including one fellow that was talking on his phone just like last time. It looks like someone had already been out and lightly raked the trail. I kicked off some more rocks. And it's always nice to hike on a non-dusty trail.
WATCH 2:23-3:29PM, 3.23 miles burning 396 calories. 1466-1709 elevation. 135 bpm/169 max. Geez, barely 1% Zone 5 Max - has to be something wrong with this reading! or I really have to pick up the pace and I felt like I was moving pretty fast, 15% Zone 4 Anaerobic, 43% Zone 3 aerobic and 40% Zone 2 Weight Control.
Temp a lovely 57.1 somewhat cloudy and 74% HUMIDITY, no breeze for the most part. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
