Peak 8219

I've taken this Sutherland trail several times and I'm sure I've walked close to this summit before, but today wanted to actually get there. Tim and I found a use trail heading up in that direction but the trail was badly overgrown. There was a lot of NM locust blocking parts of the trail. Luckily, I had my cutters with me and was able to cut a clear path to the high point. We didn't see any registry here, but I had a jar which I left at the high point under a small rock pile. I would imagine somebody will find this registry after a few years, but we don't believe this is a popular destination at all. There really aren't any views from the peak, but there were some shady clearings in the trees. We sat down at had our lunch not far from the summit in a shady area because we knew there would be minimal shade after leaving the tree cover.

Sutherland trail #6 - a little eroded in some places, a little overgrown in some places, but not hard to follow overall
bushwhack to the top of Peak 8219 |
