| no partners | | Easy workout hike with the dog. Got started around 0900. This trail had been closed for two summers due to a nearby fire, just reopened a few weeks ago. Zero evidence of fire (I think it stayed farther south on the ridge), but the trail is in excellent shape. No deadfall, good footing.
Looked around the campsite at about 1.50 miles, then took the side trail up to the summit. Great views. Very breezy today, so we didn’t stay long. Easy hike back downhill to the truck. Temp was 45 at both the start and finish, probably a few degrees cooler at the summit. Saw zero people. Some deer and turkeys on the drive, but no animals on the hike. |
