| partners | | linda invited bruce and i up to idaho to sample some of the hiking
by the time we landed in spokane, drove to her house and got ready to hike, most of the rain had moved off to the east
we drove up into the forest and set out on an old roadbed, transitioning to single track
the hike gains 1600 feet in a little over two miles, so decently steep but with good footing
switchbacks through forest, then we stopped at an overlook to check out the views to the west
soon after, the trail splits and we took the left fork to north chilco
some talus to cross before topping out
great views of the surrounding area from the open summit
we opted to drop off to the south to make a small loop on the return
more talus, my favorite
quick hike downhill after that
glad we were able to get in a hike on a travel day
great intro |
