| no partners | | Only had limited time this morning so I pretty much flew up the trail as fast as possible. Hung out at the junction with the Waterline for about 15 minutes to eat lunch. It's pretty dry still, so the wildflowers weren't as spectacular as last year, but the alpine tundra vegetation is in full autumn color right now. I wish I had more time to take pictures up there, the light was ever changing with the clouds moving about overhead. The descent down the avalanche section was sketchy as ever (that old walking stick I keep in the trunk served me well). Coming down through the forest was a treat (as usual) and brought me a strong feeling of contentment and reminded me why I love this mountain so much. |
