| no partners | | Got the first day of work out of the way, then it was back to the real reason I am here! 
45 minutes after leaving work, I arrived at the BA trailhead and started down at 6:01.
Saw a ranger on my way down, but she just said hi, didn't even ask me where I was going. My first time down the ranger asked me, but was satisfied with my vague answer "oh, just a little ways" ... haven't run into a jerky ranger yet.
Took me the same amout of time as the first time, but it felt easier. Made the resthouse in 30 mins, and there was a ranger there, too. Hung out for a few minutes, wet my hat, and headed back up.
It amuses me that you have to climb 14 steps to get to the restrooms there ... I can only imagine that after hiking all the way up from the bottom, those 14 extra steps cause alot of bitterness.
On my way up I was delayed for a few minutes by some deer on the trail, a family of Western Tanagers in some bushes, and a female Black-headed Grosbeak.
Made it out and back home by dark. |
