| no partners | | | I wanted to see what changes heat and dry conditions brought to the park after a month's absence. Almost everything dull now, faded into shades of pastel. Many creosotes appear almost white, their once rich, green leaves dominated by the snowy seed balls, the leaves slipping into survival modes of near-invisible light yellows and browns. Pleasant evening loop hike from 7th Ave, past the Trupiano Bench and turning back at the VC trail connector. Clouds all but obscured the sun and a comforting breeze blew in from the SW. Heard no coyotes. No sightings of quail, just a few peeps at the start. Passed about a half dozen hikers and almost as many bikers. Oh, and one jogger. Beautiful moon, low in the east, toying with clouds on the drive home. |
