| no partners | | Did this loop counter-clockwise for once. Prefer clockwise, veering first over the ridge on the Mohave Connector, then up the Ruth Hamilton and coming down from the Kolbe Bench. Much better views and a climactic end to the hike, unlike the reverse, coming down in back of residences in Biltmore Estates. Stayed on the eastern saddle of the #202 as sunset approached, hoping to gather some nice photos. I never know what's good until I get home and put the photos on the laptop screen. Ones I think at the time are good often turn out to be among the worst. I knew a photographer, Rich Clarkson, who shot for National Geographic. He said the key to shooting great photos was shooting a lot of them at different settings. And he did, and this was back in the days of film. Hip, hip for digital. So I shot more than a few myself but hate to review so many at home. Time is of the essence, they say. Cool afternoon, on the cusp of jacket weather. Traffic light. Saw no one as usual coming across on the Mohave Connector. |
