| no partners | | | A very lush park indeed. Grass is up almost an inch and creosotes are glossy green. Same for palo verde. Don't think I've seen a greener inner basin in December. Beautiful day and trail was busy. Did a short loop from VC via north dam, then south and west halfway through the park and back. Didn't see a single quail but heard plenty in the bush. In fact saw no birds at all until getting back to the VC where a cactus wren dashed across the gravel by the restrooms with a less bashful Abert's towhee nearby. Kinda defeats the whole idea of walking in the wilds. |
