The water in Workman creek is as low as I've seen it. It was barely a flow at the campsite, although there are plenty of pools all along. Rain moved in Friday evening but was only off an on throughout the night. Saturday I hiked downstream towards the confluence of Workman with Salome, but was turned around by again rain and this time some thunder with much darker clouds. Saturday evening the rain held off until the early morning hours, then stopped before sunrise. It rained again a little during the hike out on Sunday.
The campsite and fire pit were again trashed with all kinds of junk. People! Aluminum foil does not burn up in most campfires, nor do your Mountain House packets. Pack that PUMPKIN out... Kleenex, band-aids, jiffy pop remnants, and tons of plastic bags. I don't advocate burning any of your trash, but leaving it for me to carry out is getting old.
Also, the owner of the tent, hammock, pillow, sleeping bag, and Jack Daniels stashed under the rock, may want to move your hiding place! Or better yet, take it all home... |
