Made a dash up to Tonto to take advantage of my annual donation to AZ Fish and Game by catching some pan sized rainbows stocked in plenty for the holiday weekend. Arrived with the stream to myself at 6:30AM. Not to disappoint, the creek was loaded. After a quick cleaning it was off to the Highline for a short hike to check out an area with a potential spring near the power lines west of Horton Spring. It was a pleasantly foggy morning and the trail was empty. I saw no one until the return trip to the parking lot. Had a nice lunch spot next to DW Creek...
