| partners | | I needed to find someplace cooler to hike. I don't tolerate JJ temperatures well at all.
Can't get too much higher in AZ than Flag., so off we went. Ray sometimes struggles with the affects of higher elevation, So Weatherford seemed to work. It was a bite off as much as you can chew deal.
Steady grades, available shade, decent trail, gentle breezes, big views and sporadic downed trees were the the theme for the day.
We met Fan at Doyle Saddle, the Doyle Saddle next to Doyle Peak. I tried to tell @fan3992 that she was at the wrong Saddle to meet her group, but she was having none of it. I believe she spent the night alone.
10K Ray visited with Fan while Denny and I headed off to Fremont Saddle for some lunch. There's still some snow drifts to negotiate, but not too bad. I love the views into the Inner Basin and to Humphrey on this section.
Temps ranged between 67 and 89 at the finish.
Pizza at NiMarcos Pizza in Flag finished off a wonderful day in the high country.
Thanks Ray and Turtle for joining.
Always great hiking with these two... |
