It was near solitude up to Humphreys Saddle, I think we only saw two trailrunners up until that point. At and after the saddle, it was a steady stream of hikers up to the summit. I disappointed a few who thought they were closer to the top than they really were, it's always kind of fun to see the look on their face when I say they are looking at a false summit. Once I was finally at the top, I took a short break, and we headed down since the clouds were starting to build. I told Todd & Lee that I wouldn't mind at all if they wanted to hit Fremont & Doyle peaks on their way down and I would wait for them at the car, but they opted not to. Maybe knowing I had the car keys swayed their decision, because the clouds were clearing up at that point. After we finished, we had an early dinner in Flagstaff to celebrate Lee's slide into the latter half of his 30's. Nice day, and fun, as usual! |
