| partners | | got an invite from todd and linda to hike mt. wrightson
linda and i met todd at the trailhead after his rainy adventure weekend in the pinalenos
got going around 7:30 with cool temps and relatively clear skies
went up the super trail to josephine saddle, then old baldy to the summit
humid conditions, water on the trail in places, grasses along the trail were wet
at badly saddle we could see low clouds enveloping the summit
pretty cool effect
initially couldn't see anything but white clouds/fog from the summit
the clouds opened occasionally to provide familiar views
some good wildflowers and lush landscape
eventually headed down and with weather holding, took the longer super trail
back at the saddle, finished on old baldy
heard a few rumbles of thunder, and saw rain showers near the whetstones and huachucas but nothing came close and we stayed dry
an awesome amount of running water on the mountain
my third time hiking this, and it's one of my favorites
love this area
nice to hike with linda and todd again; it's been too long!
