I was on my way to hike Guadalupe Peak in TX, so I decided to stop off in Tucson and hike up to Wrightson while I was passing through. This hike was memorable in that it was the 250th ascent of Wrightson for @SkyIslandHiker -- I am only 244 ascents behind him!

It was very hazy which limited the views on the hike. The temperature was fine though, and we were in the shade all the way to Baldy Saddle. On the way back we took the Old Baldy Trail down to Josephine Saddle, and from there took the Super Trail. We went aways on the Super Trail, and then went offtrail through Fern Canyon -- this shortened the descent by about 1/2 mile, and gave us a bit more shade. It is really dry in Fern Canyon right now.

At this time of year there are normally LOTS of goldeneyes blooming. Unfortunately there were only a few blooming this year.

It was another great hike up to the summit of this iconic Arizona peak!
