| no partners | | I almost forgot about this one; I think because it was kind of a last minute decision. I know I'm running out of afternoon hiking time due to rising temps but I'm trying to hang in there. I hiked clockwise and there was a bit of nature's fan at work, one of my favorite things when the temps are warm.
There were a few other hikers out as I made my way around Lookout Mountain. I took the long way back to Tonto3. Flowers were mostly nil except for Brittlebush and like Dixie Mountain Loop further north, the Fiddleneck had mostly dried up too.
Weird thing as I hiked up the paved hill: at the gate where the spikes are, apparently the driver of this large white pickup decided he needed to go on the other side of the road rather than over the out spikes; I tried to point out it was fine but he still drove out the in road where there weren't any spikes... just when you think you've seen it all .

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
