We checked it out on Google Earth and headed on up. We arrived at a vista that had great views of the east valley including the McDowells and all the other usual suspects.
We agreed that we should come back for a sunrise and this morning we did just that. The trailhead at the Black Mountain Summit Trail was packed at 6am and we continued right on by to our mystery road. We made it up in the knick of time for the sunrise. With the clouds that came in overnight things looked beautiful. This area of Black Mountain has not been built upon yet. I hope it stays this way.
We got some nice photos and we both were amazed that this vista was such a short walking distance from our home. |
