| partners | | Having lived here since 1968 it's unusual that I've never hiked a single trail on SoMo. I spent lots of time there with the Boy Scouts when I was young and competed at Phoenix Rod & Gun club every week for years but never stepped foot on a single trail.
I remedied that this morning with LindaAnn at the Pima Canyon TH. The last time I hiked with Linda we did Vulture Peak with @Tortoise_Hiker . She struggled a little bit with that, so today I picked something that was more within her hiking abilities.
OK, now for the factual details...This seemed like a solid entry level SoMo hike for me and it was. Linda suggested we do a different return route off trail and follow a wash back down to the road. It was a great idea as the geology and views were fantastic. My foot stuck on some granite and I went headfirst into a motorhome sized boulder. Luckily I "cushioned" the impact with my ulna instead of my face. I now have a purple forearm.
I look forward to seeing more of the trails and sights on SoMo in the future. Thanks again for the invite Linda...great hike! |
