To close out the year I decided to head to the Supes and do the Black Mesa Loop with a side trip up to Yellow Peak.

We did the loop CCW. I enjoyed the Dutchman Trail today: there was some water in some sections of the trail, and we had to do a bit of rock hopping on a couple of creek crossings. The Black Mesa Trail was a bit damp, but wasn't really muddy. The Second Water Trail was dry for the most part. It was a nice off-trail hike up to Yellow Peak -- the views are really nice up there.

This was a near perfect hiking day: cloudy, not windy, with comfortably cool temperatures. It was the kind of day that I like to do a long hike on.

There weren't many people out there today, which was surprising to me for a holiday weekend. Not that I am complaining!
