| no partners | | Didn't want to really do anything today and certainly didn't do much, yet more went on than planned. Drive down to check over gravesites again, the road really torn up in spots from the apparent storm last night. Muddy pools at places but no flow today. Graveyard site looked fine, had time to check out a new trail decorated in some pot shards and pretty chert chippings.
On the loop stopped at a place that had always been signed "no trespass" but that signage gone for years. Checked out a mine adit, disappointment, but off the list. Walked the road and found two more adits for another time in an area I am familiar but could not see the openings from other vantage points.
Driving out stopped by an illegal. Gave him my cold water. Not too far along some skanky looking white guys in a flat gray pickup truck came by, I told them about the guy perhaps needing help and maybe others. One guy said oh I have a sat phone I'll call it in. I drove on and thought, ha, probably the cartel cross border assistance program members. So on I drove, finally stopped to let two border patrol agents know what was going on. I got out of the Jeep and almost forgot what I was going to say. The two best looking guys I've seen in a while said "Ma'am may we help you" One looked like a tall ripped Burt Reynolds or Tom Selleck lookalike and the other a tall ripped Brad Pitt lookalike, when Brad Pitt looks neat and groomed. Man if I could only be 40 years younger!! Who is recruiting these guys!
Anyway got it together enough to tell my story and they said they would radio and also be on the lookout for the pickup. Unfortunately plenty of American citizens aid the cartels for the moola to be had.
