Old mining area, a new spot with lots of flowers and lots of colorful rocks; some absolutely huge. Then to another area that I am pretty sure probably burned a long time ago and in rehabbing the watershed they must have flown over and dropped a ton of wildflower seed. That is why there are not kidding probably many thousands if not millions of poppies. The rancher was not sure if or when it had burned but I found several small old mini "dams" on ravines feeding into the main wash, probable erosion control from a long time ago. Saw some tweakers, saw a snake, heard a couple in a pick up truck ( missed the climax) and in general had a great day.
