I did my standard CCW loop when doing the Cliff Walk. I went in on the Apache-Badger-Cliff Walk-Esplanade-Apache. Really not my favorite trails. No elevation with minimal views. The Cliff Walk offers a decent view when overlooking the wash. Still nice trails for a run with only a few rocky sections. The trails haven’t changed too much. Well signed and easy to follow. They have taken a few “use” trails and made them connector trails to existing trails. They also, have an unmarked post next to the Cave Creek bridge which makes me think there may be a signed Spur Cross connector trail in the future.
Encountered a biker and a hiker. Wildlife was minimal….roadrunner and a falcon. Looks like they are expanding the Dove Valley road near the Apache Wash TH. Still easy access, just need to watch out for the road bikers. |
