| partners | | I got in touch with my Inner Basin today. Before today, I was an Inner Basin virgin. This will become my go to Humphreys route. We left the TH about 7:30am and finished about 3pm. We signed in at 8am... covering the first 1 1/2 miles in 30 minutes. A facet...I thought.. why am I carrying all this water. They say imitation is flattering or something like that. I decided to wear my sandals... albeit without any snow on the route. I also had a pic taken at the saddle. I've self anointed myself "Captain" of the Umbies. Kurt is the General and everyone else can choose their own rank. I can go on and say yada yada yada. Okay a couple more tidbits. Denny had his saw with him again today. Hopefully the pics came out this time. We jumped a couple of Blue Grouse but didn't get a pic. Did I say it was windy? This was the windyest hike ever (except for Colorado). I know its spelt wrong. Denny told a joke and I was glad I wasn't drinking anything at the time. Next time I do this I will pull the tail of the bear. Adding 13 miles and elevation. Our time includes gail(an old girlfriend) force winds, lunch, pics, and etc adding 1 hour and 20 minutes to our total. |
