Went to Peak 2669 from Peak 2881. Followed horse trails for most of the way. The horse trail even continued north beyond Peak 2669 into an area labeled Bagley Flat on the map. Saw two groups of horse riders heading that way. At 2669 there are views to Saguaro Lake, Canyon Lake and the Salt River. Our loop ended up off-trail for about a mile to get back to our car.

Does anyone know where that horse trail into the Bagley Flat area from Peak 2669 eventually goes or does it just dead end in Bagley Flat?

On the way up Chuparosa Canyon we encountered a nice boot path (with cairns) heading southeast. This well marked route led us up to a saddle which overlooked Ermahgerd Canyon. From there we descended steeply to the upper end of Ermahgerd Canyon. Thanks to whomever marked the route. The way out of Chuparosa Canyon has also been maintained compared to prior years.

Getting past the dry waterfalls is a little spicy. Great views up at 2881 and Horns of Dilemma.
Lots of bright yellow flowers on the brittlebush . Also saw a Desert Nightsnake on the path.

The road in is very rocky. Parked early near watering tanks for cattle and walked some extra on the rough road.

Plenty of horse and cattle trails to follow throughout the canyon. Some water is flowing in the creek but no issues with keeping the feet dry. Didn't see anyone or anything all day.

Hiked to the old stone kiln on the way to do the ridgeline loop. It was crazy windy this morning on the summit.

Sky Island loop before the bald eagle closures start on December 1. First river crossing was up to 1 foot deep and our second river crossing had a 1.5-foot-deep section. The high county has great views down to the river, the lake and of course the two arches.

Went out to see the two stone kilns once used to make quicklime from limestone. It must have been quite a sight to watch them in action. Does anyone know of a third kiln in the area?

Went up the scramble route to Black Cross Butte. Took the trail over to the Chalcedony Cave. From there we looped around the butte above the cave. Finally went out to a viewpoint down to the Salt River.

Beautiful day at White Pocket. Lots of exploring to be had there. The drive in is tiring with the long sections of sand and washboard.

Hike to see the fall colors around Marl Lake, which is just south of Higgins Lake. Did indeed see red and yellow trees along the shoreline. Saw several other groups on this mostly level trail.

Short loop hike to see the golden larch trees. The initial half mile is a steep trail. Saw many families and kids doing the hike to see the golden larch trees. Lucky to see some bighorn sheep too.

Used a lifted jeep (with lockers) to drive the terrible "road" to the trailhead. Extended the loop to explore Tarp Canyon and see the cliff dwelling area. First time on these scenic trails, just wish the road was maintained so everyone could experience them.

Went up to the crash site of the North American F-100F on April 4, 1960. It is a rugged area for sure. Lots of debris remains at the site. Continued up to peak 3958 for lunch. Expansive views up there.

Did the loop through two canyons. Started early to avoid any jeeps on the 4x4 road section. The east canyon is fun with the boulder obstacles and narrow section.

Fun time finding a way through all the boulder obstacles. Turned around at the junction with Lost Dutch Canyon. Most unusual sighting was of two separate dead foxes in the canyon. One was on top of a boulder and the other was on top of a log. No obvious cause of their dead. Any ideas?
