| partners | | After a very long day, I was so ready for a hike this evening. I met Daniela at the trailhead and we were on our way. I filled her in on all of the nonsense my week has consisted of as we made our way up the ruins trail. The sun was setting just as we got to the top, which made for some nice views. I pointed out a few other places I want to check out up there the next time we have more daylight, then we headed east on National. On National, I walked up on a rattler on the trail, and Daniela reminded me that's why she makes me walk in front since I always notice the snakes before she does--lucky me. We took some pics, then let him move off the trail before continuing. Quick side trip up Goat Hill, then over to Pyramid and back down to the car. Near the bottom of Pyramid, I saw a shadow that looked like tarantula legs, and nearly flew sideways off the trail--which resulted in her teasing me about my hardly reacting to a snake, but jumping a mile at a potential spider (which was really just a rock). |
