My Trail Angel Extraordinaire (@rhedda_6) helped our son and me by dropping off the Suburban at the Picketpost Trailhead, then driving us part way up FR 4 (Telegraph Canyon Rd). My son and I got out, strapped on the boots, and hit the road shortly after 9:00. The road in is very rugged, and not drive-able by most vehicles. We arrived at the trail crossing at 11:30, hung a right, and headed down to PicketPost Trailhead, arriving there about 3:15.

The temperature was very nice - upper 50s - great for hiking, but the wind had kicked up, and that made things chilly. I didn't take off my long sleeved T-shirt until around 2:00.

A nice time with my favorite hiking buddy. When can we go again? :)
