Ramanote Canyon to Split tank and back
Just needed a short one today and this has been a good out and back hike but today I decided to make it a round trip. From the Satellite view I thought I saw a mine out there and from an up close and personal view it was just some different colored rocks and dirt. There is a new path courtesy of my butt. Out of control slide for about 30 feet. Digging my new hiking stick into the ground slowed the descent.
There is a closed road from the windmill to almost the top of the mesa across from Wise Mesa and then only animal trails. Someone had been partway up on a 4 wheeler but turned around halfway.
About an hour later with no visible path or trail I walked right across a 2 foot wide trail that lasted about 50 yards. Weird.
It was just nice to get outside in the middle of the week. No real destination or purpose other than getting some sun and exercise.
2.09 miles in 2 hours.
Chilly start and breezy.
Split tank is less that a quarter full.
Saw two deer. |
