I hiked this trail last year on July 4th and hope to keep this as a yearly tradition. This year, I had company. My son, and two co-workers David and Courmarane. We started early at 6:30am, but it was already pretty warm. The island is quite barren and offers zero shade. The trail leads to the west side which gave us a respite from the morning sun, but not for long. Still, it was a rewarding hike with great views at the top and we got to see a bison and antelope. At one point we could even hear a chorus of coyotes yipping far below. |
