It rained the evening before and sprinkled that morning with 50 degree temps. The forest smelled amazing and the trail was moist with plenty of mud puddles. We saw beautiful rainbows and deer on our hike. Since this trail was along the Wasatch ridge line, we had magnificent views in all directions and it was cloudy making it perfect hiking conditions. The one negative was the lack of parking. It offered parking a mile down the road, then wanted you to walk back to the trail head. Since I didn't want the extra two miles I parked at the trail head which was a view area/drop off only. Thank you Officer Wilkins for only giving me a warning. On even numbered days the trail is open to mountain bikers, so we had to hop off the trail several times as they sped by. No biggie, I was willing to share that beautiful, gorgeous day!! |
