| no partners | | My schedule and the weather weren't going to line up to hike anywhere more interesting this weekend, so I fit in a quick hike before work on Friday morning. About a mile in, the tattered bottom of the loaner backpack I've been using for a while completely ripped out and dumped the contents of the pack, so I had to get creative with the remaining pockets to carry everything. Safe to say that backpack is headed for retirement...
Wildflowers are really starting to bloom, and the temperature was very comfortable this morning. The trails were surprisingly empty at the beginning, but it was almost weekend-level busy over the last few miles. I saw a coyote on my way back from Dobbins Lookout, and I also I passed a big group of kids, one of whom was carrying a giant cross...maybe a pre-Easter biblical reenactment? When I got back to my car, a truck had backed up and parked within inches of the front of my car...I was lucky I had enough room behind me to back up and squeeze out of there. Never a dull moment at SoMo... |
