Another hot weekend ahead, so I returned to South Mountain for an early repeat hike before work. It was a hazy morning that started in the low/mid 80s at sunrise. The trails were a little busier than last week, but not by much--I passed five people in the first half mile on Marcos de Niza, but after that there weren't many bikers or hikers out. I turned around at Dobbins Lookout again and didn't see any noteworthy wildlife during the hike.

Add a few more people on the trails, subtract a trekkin_gecko/johnlp sighting, and this was a carbon copy of last week's hike, right down to the minute. When I got back to the trailhead, there was a guy with a clipboard asking people if they are registered voters in Arizona. I didn't stick around to see what he wanted, but I'm amazed he couldn't find a better place than a relatively empty trailhead on a hot morning to seek petition signatures...
