I started from Pima Canyon TH at 5AM again this week. More people on the trails in the first mile or two than I expected, and I passed a guy carrying a pair of dumbbells up Marcos de Niza early on...that was a first. It looked like there had been some rain at SoMo over the past week, with a few damp spots that attracted a lot of bees. I took a quick break at Dobbins Lookout before turning around, and a few of the bees took an unusual interest in my backpack for some reason, so I didn't stick around too long.

Coming down from Dobbins, a snake quickly slithered across the trail under my legs as I stepped down off a rock. I didn't get a picture or a good look before it disappeared, but it didn't look like a rattlesnake--it was skinny and gray. The last few miles were very quiet on the trails, and I finished around 8:30AM again.
