Better hiking plans fell through at the last minute, and I was up early anyway, so I headed to Pima Canyon around sunrise to get a quick hike in. Early on, it was surprisingly quiet for a weekend at South Mountain...I don't think I saw a mountain biker on the trail until I was 8+ miles in. Since I was last there a few weeks ago, they've added a connector trail between National and Pima Wash in an area that used to have an "Area Closed" signed. It's fairly close to the existing intersection between the National/Pima Wash anyway, so it seems a little unnecessary, but it's there and has a new sign to go with it.

Overall, it was an uneventful hike...no interesting wildlife, but there was a nice sunrise, the temperature was perfect, and there are still a lot of wildflowers blooming. I turned around at Dobbins Lookout, and the trails were a lot more crowded over the past few miles. I finished up a little before 9AM, and cars continued pouring in.
