I thought that if Black Mesa was dry enough I'd drive down the gas pipeline road to the south end and if it wasn't I'd look around the middle part of the mesa near the Sunset exit. Well it was dry enough to get started but it got muddy about half way down and so I improvised a short loop.

I was happy with the "cultural hunting" along the new stretch of the eastern mesa edge I walked. I passed about 3 small ruins, one with a grinding area. I also found some nice petroglyphs along part of the cliff band. A short day but I saw enough.

Drove home slow - the mud on my rims had me bouncing at 65mph.
