When my grandfather would take us fishing in Iowa he'd ask whether we wanted to go to the one minute hole or the two minute hole? My oldest son, visiting for a week from Ann Arbor, agreed to go for a hike so I took the morning off and we went to the one minute petroglyph site.

I had been there a couple times before but thought we could find some new places to look. This turned out to be true...I'd guess almost half of the hundreds of petroglyphs we found were new to me. We also found a decorated area with many grinding slicks (at least 20)...hadn't seen anything like that in this vicinity before.

It was a good day...but I don't think Doug's legs got enough sun to look good in the kilt he's wearing to his friend's wedding this weekend.
