Seemed like a nice day to hit this one. I realized it's closer to my house than picketpost. And definitely a lot more reward.
The road section at the lower part is probably a couple of years from being fine for any 4wd to drive. The quads have been giving it a workout. Water in the creek along that stretch. A little catclaw up by the saddle. No problem with shorts, but somebody with loppers and 15 minutes could restore it to a perfect track.
Y-bar love the whole way down. Sounds of rushing water near the bottom. As much flow as any time I've been here. Wet crossings were avoided with some carefully placed rocks. The only place it was dry was the wide open area just below the cabin. The spring was running at least 5gpm. Cabin was excellently stocked, and the supply spigot was delivering water like home.
Bees nest above the petropictos was still there from last time. Not terribly active, but still some audible buzzing and enough to keep you alert.
Nice breeze, but the sun was warm on the way out. 33 to start in the morning with all the layers, and 65 on the drive out. Last weekend of deer bow hunt so a handful of lazy hunters glassing from trucks parked along the road. Always a good one!
