Got up at 7ish, went outside to check the water, temp felt cool. Alexa said it was only 79 so I geared up and drove to the TH. Put note on person's car next to me to let them know they took two spots.
I went counterclockwise to take advantage of the shade from the western mountains. The hike went well. There was a breeze on the south side. Coming up the east side I saw trail work had been done. Looks like they leveled the trail to keep even with all that rock they had laid over the last year. As I came over the final hill above the trailhead, I saw a rock with shiny graffiti. I wasn't going to take care of it but then decided to. It took a little time but it was that stick on lettering so I was able to scrape it off.
I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was for my delayed hike. My goal this summer is just to get a hike in as often as I can, even if I go slower.
WATCH: 2.48 miles. Avg bpm 137, max 159 (seems high but I came close to it twice on this hike, guess I'm just out of shape already). 42% at max Zone 5 (seems high too), 47% at Zone 4 anaerobic and the rest at aerobic burning 360 calories. Temp at start 84.1 and 10% humidity finishing at 8:30AM. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
