| no partners | | I started off the Fourth with an early hike at Pima Canyon. The gate was closed when I started around 4:45AM, but I must've just missed the early opening, because cars started pouring in right after I started walking up the road...a few minutes later and I could've avoided the extra mile of road walking. It was a quiet, clear sunrise, and there were more people on the trails than I expected...quite a few hikers and bikers out on the holiday.
I stuck to my usual route but turned around past Buena Vista Lookout, a little short of Dobbins, because of some tightness in my foot that I figured would benefit from a little less hiking and a little more stretching. I didn't see any particularly unique wildlife today...lots of rabbits, squirrels, and lizards, but that was about it. I ran into TboneKathy along National Trail back near the trailhead, and I finished up just before 8:30AM. The parking lot was about half empty at that point as it warmed up into the mid-90s. Not quite a humid today as last week, but still humid. |
